Trent.EternalSpring,1840to1917.AugustRodin,Bronze.EternalSpringbytheFrenchsculptorAugusteRodin,ismountedonameterhighplinthinsidetheentranceofthePotteriesArtGallery.Thebronzesculpturemeasuresalmost1meterinlengthandstandsatjustoverhalfmeterhigh.Itdepictsthenudefiguresofamanandawomanlockedinapassionateembrace.Theoriginalsculpturewasworkedinclay,andthismodelwascastinbronzebetween1898and1918.Themalefigureisseatedonarockyoutcrop.Hisleftlegcrossedoverhisrightasheleansintothekneelingfemalefigurewhosetorsoisarchedtowardshim.Herrightarmisextendedoverherheadassheseemstopullhisheadtowardsherastheykiss.Hisrightarmcradlesunderneathhershoulderswhilsthisleftarmcomfortablycurled.
